This is the home page for GHCS Software. Our current GedStar product offerings are for assisting with genealogical research on a handheld PDA or smartphone that uses the PalmOS™ operating system. These products take data from a PC-based genealogy program and convert it for convenient viewing on the handheld device. They work with any genealogy program that runs on a Windows™ PC.

There are several editions of the GedStar product line to meet differing requirements, and for compatibility with older handheld devices. All of them are support the GEDCOM 5.5 standard, while some also support direct import of data from certain popular genealogy programs.

Visit each product section for an overview or to see the full product details and sample screens before deciding which one is best for you. All products are available as a fully-functional free trial download for a limited time period, and can be purchased from this site and from several other genealogy and PalmOS software vendors.

GedStar Pro V3.2 is our premier offering and is capable of displaying almost all of your genealogy data — including photos — on your handheld's screen. It is recommended for use with all genealogy programs and works with most PalmOS handheld devices.

GedStar Basic V5.2 was our original product, and is mostly intended for viewing common "BMDB" data on older handheld devices with limited memory.

GedStar-Plus V5.2 is a variation of GedStar Basic that supports the direct import of data from either The Master Genealogist™ or Legacy Family Tree™.
